June Hart Bryant
Memorial services for June Hart Bryant, 82, of Tyler, are scheduled for 11:00 AM Thursday, March 17, 2016 in the Sanctuary of First Christian Church with Dr. Chris Pulliam officiating. Private family burial under direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home will precede the memorial service. Visitation will be held in the parlor of First Christian immediately following the memorial service.
Mrs. Bryant died Sunday, March 13, 2016. She was born March 14, 1933, in Jefferson to the late Raymond B. Hart and Mattie Bailey Hart. She graduated from Longview High School and Tyler Junior College where she was an Apache Belle, yearbook editor and a member of Phi Theta Kappa honorary scholastic fraternity. She received a Bachelor of Science from North Texas State University and a Master of Education from Stephen F. Austin State University. Her professional career was spent with Tyler Independent School District as an elementary teacher for twenty three years.
After retiring, Mrs. Bryant was one of the founders of The Salvation Army Womenâ€™s Auxiliary in 1986. There were twenty-one Charter members. Mrs. Bryant served on the Executive Board for many years, was past president and had chaired a number of committees. She loved the Salvation Army and was dedicated to helping with their mission. Her volunteer work with The Salvation Army Womenâ€™s Auxiliary was a very fulfilling period in her life.
She was also a member of AAUW and First Christian Church. June Bryant loved to travel with church, family, and friends and did so extensively for many years.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Henry H. (Hank) Bryant; daughters Vicki Vise and Beth Vise (Mike); son Mark Vise (Cathy); grandchildren Matthew Hart Vise and Linsey Leigh Vise; sisters Rayline Binion and Alice Bockus; Aunt, Earline Hart Andrews. Also surviving are step-daughters Linda Bryant Dorsey (Doyle), Mary Bryant Burch (Henry), and Martha Bryant Swanson (Randy); step-son Robert Edwin (Bob) Bryant (Iris) ; grandchildren Raegan Rhone Muse and Kendyl Rhone Zimmerman; and three great grandchildren, Dylan and Hudson Muse, Landon Zimmerman.
