    Wanda Lou Wren, 72, of Springtown, formerly of Stamford, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2016 at her home in Springtown. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Trinity Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Wingrove officiating. Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. in the Idalou Cemetery, Idalou, Texas. Family and friends will gather for visitation on Friday evening, March 11, 2016 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Kinney-Underwood Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Kinney-Underwood Funeral Home in Stamford.

    Wanda was born March 31, 1943 in Lubbock, Texas, the daughter of the late Glenn and Lucille (Bowden) Speer. She married Melvin Wren on October 19, 1959 in Durant, Oklahoma. Melvin and Wanda made their home in Arlington where Wanda worked in the accounting department for Tandy Corporation. After retirement, they moved to Lake Stamford in 2005. While living at the lake, Melvin and Wanda were active members of Trinity Baptist Church in Stamford. In 2014, Melvin and Wanda moved to Springtown, Texas and became members of Springtown Baptist Temple Church. Among Wanda’s hobbies was creating and working with different crafts. She and Melvin also liked to travel, and listen to gospel music.

    Wanda's was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Norman Speer, Edsel Speer and one sister Ann Bufe.

    Family left to cherish Wanda's memory are her husband of 56 years, Melvin Wren of Springtown; children, Troyce Wren of Tampa, Florida, Robert Eugene Wren and wife Susan of Cleburne, Texas, Cassandra Warner and husband David of Arlington, Texas, Gregory Wren and fiancée, Jennifer of Springtown; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one sister, Glena Hobgood of Granbury, Texas, one brother, James Speer of Idalou, Texas; numerous nephews and cousins; and her church family at Trinity Baptist Church.
