Tommy Leo Womack
Tommy Leo Womack, 68, of Jewett passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016, in Houston, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, March 20, 2016, at Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will be Monday, March 21, 2016, at Restwood Memorial Park in Clute, Texas.
Tommy was born December 3, 1947, in Sweetwater, Texas. He worked at Texas Department of Criminal Justice for 30 years both in Angleton and Palestine, Texas. He retired at age 50 as an Assistant Warden and moved to Lake Limestone where he became the Volunteer Fire Chief for East Lake Limestone County Fire Department. He was a Mason. Tommy enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved to travel and spend time with his family, especially the grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Womack; his mother, Lois Womack; his father and stepmother, Jess and Doris Womack; and stepbrother, Jackie Shaw.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Jimmy Guthrie; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Lanita Vicars; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Neva Womack; sister, Jackie Lanier; stepbrothers, Glenn and Patti Shaw and Stanley Shaw; grandchildren: Crystal and Marc Romero, Timothy Vicars, Megan and Epi Lopez and Garrett Guthrie; great-grandchildren: Caite Romero, Maddox Lopez, Cole Romero and Emery Lopez; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the East Lake Limestone County Volunteer Fire Department.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2016, prior to the service from noon until 2 pm at Herrington / Land of Memory Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a Volunteer Fire Department of your choice.
