    Lillian Ferrell Parker (affectionately known as "Nanny") who lived an abundant life of ninety six years and eleven months passed away on Sunday March 6, 2016. Services to celebrate her life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Waskom on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 2:00 pm. Officiating will be Pastor Eric Peyton. Graveside services will follow at Colonial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be at Sullivan Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

    Lillian was born on April 7, 1919 in Linden, Texas to John Burl and Annie Eulala Watkins Ferrell. After graduating from Linden High School she attended the College of Marshall and East Texas State Teachers University in Commerce, TX, where she earned a Bachelors and a Masters in Education. Her 42 years of teaching experience began in small Cass County schools such as Bivins, Huffines, and Atlanta. The last 27 years of teaching were spent in Waskom.

    Lillian married Nolan Watt Parker and to this union was born a daughter, Glenda Jo Parker-Ponder. Lillian was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Waskom where she and her friends faithfully occupied the third pew from the back.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers and five sisters- in- laws, Vernon and Estelle Ferrell, Orval and Dorothy Ferrell, David Ferrell, Horace and Betty Ferrell, Vance and Treece Ferrell, Morris Ferrell, and Harland and Martha Ferrell.

    Lillian is survived by her loving daughter, Glenda Ponder and husband Jimmie; one granddaughter, Alisia Mullikin and husband Rokky; grandson, Barry Childers and wife Becky; great-grandchildren, Morgan Mullikin Darcy and husband Drew, Mason Mullikin, and M’Lyn Mullikin; step grandchildren, Dee Ponder and wife Lisa, Kevin Ponder and wife Karen, Matt Ponder and wife Leslie; step great-grandchildren, Colten, Garrett, Colby, Benjamin, Samuel, and Zachary Ponder; sisters-in-law, Helen Ferrell and Maggie Ferrel; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Mrs. Parker’s nephews will serve as pallbearers.

    The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Danyale Boone, Sandra Epps, Kristi Cole, Hailey and Katie of Lifecare Hospice of Longview for their loving care.
