He was blessed with grandchildren, Courtney Folz currently residing in Norfolk, Virginia serving in the U.S. Navy, Natalie Lauren Seto, currently attending Columbus Technical College in Columbus, GA, majoring in nursing, Ryan Michael Seto eleven years old, and newborn granddaughter, Raegan Ranae DiMichele born January 4, 2016.
After graduating from high school Joe served in the Pennsylvania National Guard. He later went on to own a Paving business in Williamsport, PA. Joe also worked for a company building Geodesic Dome homes in some of the most beautiful countryside in Pennsylvania’s Lycoming and Cumberland counties. He enjoyed construction and became project/site manager for several builders.
A career change brought him into long haul truck driving. This began a decade’s long opportunity to see the landscape of the eastern half of the United States. Many states and many adventures including stories repeated and embellished in good fun. A snow storm near Chicago nearly caused him to quit the road, but close friendships developed and his buddies, Melvin (Pennsylvania) and Darryl (Kentucky) have been with him for the "ride" sharing more stories, breakdowns, rescues and a good meal at the end of a long day on the road. They were also with him when he passed away, good friends in life and death.
The family asks that if you know anyone with Diabetes you encourage regular checkups. They also wish to thank the dedicated care of the entire ICU nursing staff and outstanding physicians at Longview Regional Medical Center. Their deep compassionate care helped us through a difficult loss.
Memorial services will be conducted at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 1:00 pm with a visitation from 11:00 am. to service time.
