    Memorial services for, Mary "Jody" (Smith) Wilson, age 86 of Hideaway, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, February 29, 2016 at the Lindale First United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Ivey and Dr. Jack Cox officiating.

    Mrs. Wilson died Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Hospice of East Texas Home Place in Tyler. She was born in Carthage, Mo on July 28, 1929 to the late Willard Egbert "Pete" and Alma Josephine (Taylor) Smith. Mrs. Wilson was raised in Webb City, MO. After she was married, she traveled the world with her husband, William "Bill" Cleland, through his military career. She retired to Hideaway in 1983 with her late husband, Joe Wilson. Mrs. Wilson was an avid golfer, bridge, mahjong, and jokers player. She was also a member of the Book Review Club, Variety Club, and even began the Inoculation Program in Hideaway. Mrs. Wilson was part of the original 16 members of the Hideaway Lake Lakettes. They toured around the area bringing joy and smiles to all. She was a faithful member for over 30 years at the Lindale First United Methodist Church where she was the Co-Chair of the Call Group for the Open Door Class. Mrs. Wilson was a faithful wife, loving mother and grandmother, and a friend to all. She will be dearly missed.

    Mrs. Wilson is preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, William "Bill" Cleland in 1983, husband of 37 years, Joe Wilson in 2012, and by one brother, Kenneth Taylor Smith in 2014.

    She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Freddie and William Morrill of Rockport; son and daughter-in-law, James "Jim" and Sharon Cleland of Palestine; step-sons, Mikel Wilson of Hanalei, HI; Meier Wilson and wife, Judy of Coppell; grandchildren, Meghann Morrill and William Justin Morrill, both of Dallas; Myco Rain Wilson of Hanalei, HI; and John Paul Wilson and Carl Lewis Wilson both of Coppell; 1 nephew, Greg Smith of Austin; and 1 niece Kris Rallens of Boise, ID.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of East Texas Home Place, 4111 University Blvd, Tyler, Texas 75701.
