Doris Buckner Wilson
Services for Doris (Buckner) Wilson, age 87 of Tyler, are scheduled for 10:30 AM Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at the Antioch Baptist Church in the Sand Flat Community with Rev. Mike Ford and Rev. Stephen Nipp officiating. Interment will follow in the Sand Flat Cemetery with services under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale. Mrs. Wilson died Friday, February 26, 2016 at the Watkins-Logan Veteranâ€™s Home in Tyler. She was born in Smith County on September 10, 1928 to the late William and Clara (Piercy) Buckner. She was raised in the Sand Flat Community and a lifelong resident of the Tyler area. Mrs. Wilson volunteered at the Salvation Army in Tyler for many years. She had worked for Bell Telephone and JCPenney in Tyler, several years for the Food Fast in Chapel Hill, and later as a greeter for Walmart. She was a longtime member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Chapel Hill.
She is preceded in death by 6 brothers and sisters. Mrs. Wilson is survived by husband, Gene Wilson of Tyler; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Randy Gann of Tyler; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Denise Wilson of Red Springs; grandchildren, Don Sudduth, Brad and Holly Wilson, Jarrod and Kathryn Wilson, Sandra Wilson, Penny Birkman, Melania Adams, Heather Machiavello, Vickie Shiflett, Sarah Adams, Randall Gann, Jr., and Lacy Bartlett; 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers are Clint, Tucker, Ian, and Kaleb Wilson.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brad Wilson, Jarrod Wilson, David Turner, Steve Dunklin, Hugh Ramsey, and Ronnie Evans.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, February 29, 2016 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale.
