Opal Neuman Norris
Opal Neuman Norris, age 97 of Dayton, passed away at Magnolia Place in Liberty on March 5, 2016. Opal was born December 2, 1918 in Wallisville, TX, daughter of the late Felix Neuman and Dora Watson Neuman. Opal grew up in the Liberty area and spent time in Dayton until her passing. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Dayton and was also a member of the Eastern Star, Liberty Chapter. Opal was a wonderful seamstress and sewed all of her life from clothing to quilts. Education was important in her life and she wanted her children to get the best education possible. Opal enjoyed working the polling places during elections. It was always said that anyone that visited Opal at her house, there would always be coffee and sweets.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents, husband; George Norris, daughters; Nita Faye Norris, Brenda Hill, grandsons; Eli Hill, Marshall Rolke Jr, son-in-law; Marshall Rolke Sr, five brothers and three sisters. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, son; Wilson Norris and wife Virginia of Crockett, TX, daughters; Alice Rolke of Dayton, TX, Annita Josh and husband Larry of Kountze, TX, Juanita Fox and husband Jim of San Antonio, TX, son-in-law; Dean Hill of Devers, TX, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
