Jerry McKinley Sloyan
Jerry McKinley Sloyan- age 97 passed away Friday January 29, 2016 in Liberty, Texas. Jerry was born in Texarkana, TX. November 13, 1918 the son of the late John Sloyan and Audie Haltom Sloyan. Jerry was a member of Electricianâ€™s Local 716 for seventy-five years. After he retired Jerry continued to work building his own home. He enjoyed to travel and had been a lifelong member of the Masonic Lodge as a 32 Degree Mason. In November of 1942 Jerry joined the US Navy and served during WWII till 1946. While in the Navy he attained the rank of Electricianâ€™s Mate First Class. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Jimmy Sloyan and his wife Vonceal Sloyan. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughters Gail Burger of Channelview, Jerisue Sloyan of Liberty, and Nancy Stoorza and her husband Harry of Hempstead. In addition Jerry leaves seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11AM Wednesday February 3, 2016 at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis Liberty, Texas. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Graveside services will be held at 2:15PM Wednesday at Houston National Cemetery with full military honors. Condolences and memories can be shared online at www.allisonfuneralservice.com.
