Travis L. Hobbs
Travis L. Hobbs was born on March 26, 1930 and passed from this life into the next on February 1st, 2015. He was preceded in death by Marjorie Hobbs, his wife of almost 50 years. He loved his family, was a great friend, a hard worker and always had an unquenchable thirst for life and for learning. He was creative, unconventional, had a great sense of humor and pursued excellence and mastery in almost everything he did.He served in the US Air Force, then as a Game Warden and ultimately retired as a Special Agent for the Santa Fe Railroad. He was also a commissioned Texas Ranger.Travis found plenty of time for hobbies such as shooting, entertaining folks on his guitar, writing songs and short stories, reading, acting, golfing, camping and even joined the Gainesville Community Circus as a catcher on the trapeze. These are only a few of his endeavors. He was a Christian, but valued his personal relationship with God over religion, and never doubted that Heaven would always be his final destination.He is survived by Nelda Harkins Hobbs, daughters Darlene Trowbridge and Amy Bryant, and step-sons Rex and Kevin Harkins; grandchildren Kimberly Carver, Keri Puente, Colton Carver, Daniel Travis and Jayden Bryant, Katrina Blair, and Jacob, Heather, Hannah and Harrison Harkins. He also has 4 great-grandsons Cameron, Fox, Curtis and Ayden.He is much loved and will be greatly missed by all.
