In Loving Memory of
James Martin Hynes Sr.
James Martin Hynes, Sr., age 64, of Frisco, Texas, died December 14 after a lengthy illness. Mr. Hynes was born in Manhattan, New York, on October 27, 1950, the son of Gerard and Catherine (Travis), and younger brother of Gerard. Upon graduating from Hicksville High School on Long Island, he joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in the Philippines, flying support missions over Vietnam. During his 20-year career, he served with the First Military Airlift Wing at Andrews AFB, where he flew politicians and foreign dignitaries around the world. He also flew with Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush. In 1990 Mr. Hynes moved to Texas, where he was employed by Irving-based SimuFlight as an instructor and then EXXON Mobile Corp., where he stayed for 18 years before retiring in 2009. Mr. Hynes is survived by his wife of 42 years, Patricia Anne (Emmert); son James, his wife, Lisa, and their children James III, Lauren, Caroline, and Catherine; son Patrick, his wife, Alice, and their children Ansley and Grier; son Christopher, his fiancée Brandy Williams, and their daughter, Harper; and nephews Matthew Hynes of Dublin, Ireland, and Peter Hynes of Raleigh, North Carolina. The family will receive guests Wednesday, December 17 and Thursday, December 18 from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the Flower Mound Family Funeral Home in Flower Mound. A funeral service will be held Friday, December 19 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Annâ€™s Catholic Parish in Coppell. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Childrenâ€™s Research Hospital.
