In Loving Memory of
Mary Simpson, of Kingwood, Texas entered this life on May 13, 1921 into the loving arms of her parents John Pearson and Grace (Sidebottom) Simpson in Jacksboro, Texas. She departed this life on Sunday January 17, 2016 in Kingwood. She was 94 years old.
Mary was raised in a loving family in Jacksboro that grew to include nine children, one of whom died in childhood. She went on to graduate from college to become a teacher. She taught in many places including Bryson, the Fort Worth area and the Baytown area. She was a member of the English Club, Christian Endeavor, and Christian Women's Fellowship. Mary was very active in her church including teaching Sunday School for over 40 years and serving in the children's/youth drama programs and Disciples of Christ. But most of all she was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Grace "Tot" Simpson, Betty Simpson and Eva Simpson; brothers Lewis, Johnny and Jerry Simpson and son Clay Simpson.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Marianna Baker and husband Michael of Houston; grandchildren McGarvey House and wife Tyler, Meagan House, Reid House, and Paige Stewart and husband James; brother William T. Simpson; sister Helen Simpson; and sister-in-law Angie Simpson and many other extended family members and friends.
