HITCHCOCK – Mrs. Virginia Lee Brooke passed from this life Wednesday morning, April 22, 2015, in Hitchcock.
Born September 23, 1926 in Paris, TX, Mrs. Brooke had lived in Hitchcock and Santa Fe since 1972, previously of Galveston. Virginia was known as a hard worker, working as a telegraph operator for Western Union for 23 years as well as KLC Incorporated in Santa Fe. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, loved cooking, especially spaghetti, and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her father, Milton Seureau, mother, Lizzie Pauline (Martin) Burroughs; husband, Robert Anthony Brooke, Jr. and grandson, Stephen Ray Jones.
Survivors include her daughter, Bobbye Jean Perez and husband, David of Hitchcock; grandchildren, Michael Brooke Jones and wife, Sharon, Robert James Jones and wife, Lori and great grandson, Joshua Stephen Jones.
Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 3rd at the home of Bobbye and David Perez, 6202 Delaney Road #58, Hitchcock, with Chaplain Thomas Lester officiating. A private cremation was conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Altus Hospice for the loving care given to Mrs. Brooke during her illness.
