Mrs. Dean Phillips
Funeral services for Mrs. Dean Phillips, 89, of Henderson, will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2016 at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home chapel with Dr. David Higgs officiating.
Family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 1-2 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Phillips passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at her residence in Henderson. She was born Dec. 1, 1926, in Lubbock to the late Gid Robert and Laveta Alice Johnson, and had lived in Henderson since 1977. She retired after working in the office of Dr. Melvin. She graduated from the New London class of 1944. Dean loved quilt making, and playing dominoes and cards with friends and family. She also loved cooking for others and reading. She was a member of the Adult 8 SS Class with Peggy Dopson, being a member of the First Baptist Church of Henderson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Newman Lea Phillips, Sr.; son, Newman Lea Phillips, Jr.; and brother, Glen Johnson.
Survivors include: son, Clifford Phillips and wife Karen of Llano, and step-son, Billy Lynn Phillips and wife Elizabeth of Pasadena; brothers, Bob Johnson and wife Rose of Ft. Worth, Dale Johnson and wife Pat of Seminole, and Roger Johnson and wife Vicki of Longview; sisters, Eva Davison, Cloe York and husband Doug, and Carolyn Parker, all of Henderson; six grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
