Francisco "Frank" Moreno
Francisco "Frank" Moreno, 47, a native of Harlingen, Texas and resident of Grand Prairie, died on Thursday, July 10, 2014 in Dallas, Texas as a result of injuries received in a motorcycle accident.Visitation: 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11. Burial with military honors will follow at DFW National Cemetery.Frank was born on September 14, 1966, the 2nd of 6 children born to the late Ramiro Moreno and Yolanda Moreno. He would attend schools in San Benito, where he graduated from high school. Shortly after graduation, he would join the US Air Force, serving 8 years including a tour during Operation Desert Storm.After his military service, he would move to the Dallas Ft. Worth area where he established several businesses, including DFW Tech Group, Painting & Resurfacing. Frank was a loving father, always involved in the lives of his daughters. He was their softball coach, coaching various teams for which they played, including, the Texas Heat and the Texas Eliminators. His coaching skills would lead to his recruitment from Pantego Christian Academy to help establish their softball program.Always the avid sports fan, he loved to watch his beloved Texas Ranges, Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Mavericks. When time allowed, he would spend time outdoors, hunting, fishing, or cooking on one of his many bar-b-que grills. Favorite memories recalled are ones spent on the beach or enjoying a cold beer.His memberships also include St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, The Knights of Columbus and the Patriot Guard Riders.Survivors include his daughters, Crystal Moreno, Kristin Moreno; grandchildren, Franco and Lana; mother, Yolanda Moreno; siblings, Ramiro Lozano, Yolanda Vega, Melinda Garcia, Daniel Moreno and Jullisa Rangel.
