    Graveside memorial services for Mr. David Dennard, 84, of Dallas, Texas will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Bethlehem Cemetery in the Snap Community of Panola County, Texas with burial to follow. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. A reception for relatives and friends will follow in the Fellowship Hall of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Dennard died February 23, 2016 in Dallas, Texas.

    Mr. David Lane Dennard was born July 19, 1931 in the Snap Community of Panola County, Texas. He was one of three children born to the marriage of Rodney Clyde and Odessa Williamson Dennard. He was a graduate of Carthage High School, Panola Junior College, Stephen F. Austin State University, and the University of Texas. He married Gertrude "Trudy" Eleanor Uhlenhoff on May 31, 1957 in Longview. David joined Mobil in 1957 as a junior Civil Engineer, U.S. Supply and Transportation. He progressed through a series of engineering and managerial positions before retiring in 1992 as Vice-President of Operations. Countries he consulted with or completed projects for are Canada, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, and Iraq. David was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Dallas. He is preceded in death by his parents.

    Mr. Dennard is survived by his "Anchor for Good" and loving wife, Gertrude; daughter, Laura Eicher and husband Brad of Colorado, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren; daughter, Charlotte Knuth and her husband Scott of Dallas and three grandchildren; siblings Hilda Williams of Keithville, Louisiana, and Charles Dennard of Nashville, Tennessee; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
