    Sue Nan Caperton, 80, of Bryan, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 4th, 2016, surrounded by loving family. In accordance with her wishes, the family held a private graveside service.

    Sue Nan was born October 18, 1935 in Greenville, Texas to J.O. and Helen Frances (Shields) Wells. She attended nursing school at Parkland, where she met and married the love of her life, Clyde Caperton. Clyde and Sue Nan spent many happy years together raising five children, working, traveling and generally enjoying each other’s company. She enjoyed quilting, traveling to cooler climates and going with Clyde to photograph wildflowers and butterflies. She was a great cook and generous hostess know for her wonderful pralines! After Clyde’s death, she enjoyed spending time with children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her loving little dog, Bitsy.

    Sue Nan was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde, and her sons, Arnold and Milton. She is survived by her brother, David Wells. She is also survived by her daughter, Debbie Allen and husband Dennis, her son Michael and wife Karen, and her son Nathan. She has two grandchildren, Kelly House and husband Garrett, and Buddy Caperton and partner Nathan Byrd. She also has two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Vincent House.

    Sue Nan’s family would like to thank her good friends Wanda McGill and Cindy Armatys for all their support and kindness during difficult times. Sue Nan was able to live a much more dignified and independent life with their help.

    Even when times were difficult for her, Sue Nan kept her sense of humor and was always ready to go out to eat and visit family and friends. She will be terribly missed.

    Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Lady Bird Wildflower Center.
