In Loving Memory of
Jules Alvin Benoit
Jules Alvin Benoit departed his earthly in the early morning hours of January 19, 2016 life to be with his Lord Jesus Christ. By his side was his wife, Teresa Benoit, sister, Peggy West and niece, Saree Nash.
Jules was born May 16, 1961 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, the youngest child of Eddie and Myrtle Benoit. Jules and his family moved to Baytown in 1970. Jules graduated from Baytown’s Robert E. Lee High School in 1980. Shortly after graduating he developed a passion for the world of rigging. Influenced by his father, he learned the ways of the crane and made a 30+ year career out of it. Working in refineries throughout Texas, Jules spread his love for his craft, teaching all he knew to the men around him. Affectionately known as "Coonie" by his brothers of the hook, Jules was blessed in developing friendships that ultimately flourished into a brotherhood for the decades, something that was near and dear to his heart. Jules had a zest for life, a contagious smile and laugh, and a heart the size of Texas. He loved his family and friends more than anything, and found peace in being with those he loved. Jules was an avid football fan and never missed his chance to create the perfect line-up for fantasy football. It was likely that if you were watching football with Jules on a Sunday, you were also enjoying his cooking, whether it was by way of a barbeque pit or boiler, you were sure to leave happy and satisfied. Crawfish boils will never be the same.
Jules is preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Myrtle Benoit, sister, Pamela Benoit, father-in-law, Robert Nash, and brother-in-law, Jerry Smock. Jules is survived by his beloved wife of thirteen years, Teresa Benoit of Dayton, TX, son, Reagan Benoit of Dibol, TX, daughter, Holly Benoit of Dayton, TX, step-sons, Michael Turbeville (Kristin) of Baytown, TX, and Ricky Nash (Angelique) of Baytown, TX, sister, Peggy West (Gary) of Baytown, TX, Joey Benoit (Ruth) of Newfane, VT, brother-in-law Rocky Nash (Janice) of Dayton, TX, brother-in-law Eddie Nash of Baytown, TX, sister-in-law Tina Smock of Indianapolis, IN, mother-in-law Betty Dingfelder of Baytown, TX, and two precious grandsons, Lane Largent of Lufkin, TX and Jase Turbeville of Baytown, TX. He also leaves behind aunts (Bonnie Beard and Lula Mae Mott), nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and his brothers of hook.
