Marilyn Velma Essinger
Marilyn Velma Essinger was born February 21, 1926, in Detroit, Michigan, to Henry Clair Prior and Gertrude W. Gerds Prior. She married Jesse W Essinger on Aug 14, 1948. He was a Lutheran minister and Navy Chaplain and she followed him to his many churches and posts, sometimes becoming head of the family when Jesse went overseas.
She had five children,
Susan (Bradley) Nickerson , Timothy (Jean) Essinger, David (Bette) Essinger, Steven Essinger, and Mary Lynn Essinger. She has four grandchildren, Beth (Kevin) Staunton, Eric (Sara) Essinger, Jessica (Christopher) Indiraraj, and Jeffrey Nickerson. She has 6 great grandchildren. Delia, Maya, Gabriel, Mason, Ezekiel, and Ephraim. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Jerome Essinger and her sister-in-law, Janet Essinger and many other beloved nieces and nephews and their families. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse, and her grandson, Sean.
Always wanting to be a nurse she raised and nursed five children with the love of God, showing her family and friends what it meant to be a woman of faith. With the grace of God, Marilyn will see you in the morning.
